FLORENCE, AL - The annual Step Sing competition is set for Thursday and Friday, Jan. 28 and 29, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 30, at 5 p.m. in Norton Auditorium on the University of North Alabama campus. The theme for Step Sing 2021 is "Single Artist," and the event allows competing campus organizations to show off their talents by performing choreographed songs, dances, and stories.
The University's response to the ongoing pandemic has changed how the event will take place on campus. Thursday will be UNA Night. Friday will be Community Night, and Saturday will be reserved for a private showing for the guests of performers. Temperature checks will be taken at all entry points; face coverings will be required, and social distancing must be maintained.
The competition this year will feature performances from Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Tau Omega, Phi Gamma Delta, Phi Mu, and Zeta Tau Alpha. Winners will be announced after the performances on Jan. 30.
Doors open on Jan. 28-29 at 6 p.m. and at 4 p.m. on Jan. 30. Tickets for the community are $25 and available at caiyo.net/boxoffice. Tickets for the UNA community may be reserved at una.precense.io/forms.
